Adjusting to Mommyhood

Well, I have been back to work for about a month now. While I've heard that it gets easier, my experience isn't showing that to be true. It's not going to work that I struggle with. It being away from her for so long.

My commute is 2 hours one way. Yea, you read it right. So I spend 4 hours a day going to and from work. The irony is that I live 30 minutes from Chicago! Yet, our neighborhood is positioned 20 minutes from the expressway. You add on 2 trains and their chaotic schedules and you get one irritated momma!

I know that working and the benefits of my job are going to pay off with the opportunities I can provide for her in the long run, but its difficult nonetheless.

I'm also feel like I am struggling to get back into things at work which is probably my own issue. I hate not having control of things and being gone you have a lot of catching up to do. Being a mom is unpredictable therefore scheduling and commitments are everywhere should baby decide so.Throw me off 5 minutes and my day could be derailed by 45 minutes coming to or from home. It isn't fun.

But, you gotta do what you gotta do. Until those lotto numbers hit that I so happen to buy a ticket for... I'll continue to take it all one day at a time; do the best I can and eat a lot of chocolate to get me through. Seeing this precious smile makes it all worth it.

Until next time...
Shona
